Richard C. Ross
I attained a B.A. from DePauw University (Greencastle, IN) in 1972 and a Masters from the same school in 1974. Twenty-four of my twenty-five years in education were spent teaching at Kaneland High School in Maple Park, Illinois. There I taught Physics I and Physics II (a course which I designed and wrote the curriculum), Algebra, Geometry, Earth Science, Physical Science, a General Science survey course and a computer-based Technology lab class. After school, I coached football for three years and then golf for nineteen. I also have a successful small business designing websites and creating Internet advertising.
My first love though, has always been teaching. While still in high school, I taught swimming lessons at the local community pool and also summer camp at Mooseheart (a residential childcare facility and home for children and teens in need) in Batavia, Illinois. I have even spent some time teaching basic cooking skills... After retiring from Kaneland, I went back and did substitute teaching for several years. But I yearned to have my own classroom again. The opportunity to develop an interactive online classroom seemed like a natural solution; it would be an outgrowth of my combined backgrounds in the high school classroom and in front of the computer.

I have known Richard Ross for over 20 years. He was a positive, contributing and valued member of the Kaneland High School staff during his tenure in Kaneland District 302. We have stayed in contact since his retirement and he remains a very good friend to this day. Richard is a very competent professional whose strength is working well with students.
